It is January 1st. Time to summarize what we have done in recent months and what this season will bring.
Grand Cycling Tours
Starting with a rule change. A long running poll under Dutch members showed that the majority was in favor to decrease the penalty points for abandoned riders. So we have decreased the penalty points. For an abandoned rider you will now lose 5 points, except for the loser. For the loser you lose 100 points minus 3 per finished stage. For example, if your loser abandons in the final stage, you will lose 40 points. 100 minus 60 for finishing 20 stages.
The list of abandons is expanded with the stage in which the rider abandoned. This has now become important information to verify your points.
On the results page you will now be able to select the team time trial as well. However, the results of the team time trial will not be seen, but instead a clarification that you will get no points in the team time trial and less penalty points if the loser finishes the team time trial. The numbering of the other stages will be corrected. Previously we skipped the team time trial in the numbering.
Cycling Classics
This year more one-day races are added and you will also be able to select riders from Continental teams. The deadline for changing your selection is shifted to the race day itself. If the starting time of a race is 12:00, then the deadline will also be 12:00. If we can not determine the start time, then the deadline will be set at 11:00 in the morning (Dutch time).
Tennis
No adjustments. But important: the Australian Open starts on January 19th. Registration opens on January 5th.
Badges
We created a badge summary page. The summary page can be found in the menu More...
Also two new badges will be added. A badge for no abandoned riders in a grand tour and a badge for a top 10 ranking in a one-day race.
Database
Database has been cleaned up. We have removed users who have not logged in for more than 3 years. This is now done every year on January 1st. We have also optimized the database slightly.
Career standings updated
The career points have been multiplied by 0.9. This is also done every year on January 1st. This way, new participants can climb faster in the career rankings.
Other
- When registering for a pool, subleagues are now default checked instead of unchecked.
- We have fixed a bug on the riders page. In some cases, users were wrongly placed under 'Chosen Best/Worst'.
- Riders now have a birthyear in the database and are now automatically marked as young riders instead of manually. Because of this, we will make fewer errors.
